KiraKira Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This policy describes how the KiraKira mobile application (“KiraKira”, “the App”) handles information. It reflects the current app: a local-first money tracker with optional Google Drive backup and on-device receipt scanning. It is not legal advice.
Who we are
KiraKira is published by S Factor Technologies. For privacy questions, contact sfactortechnologies@gmail.com.
What KiraKira is not
KiraKira is not a bank, payment processor, or cloud finance platform. There is no KiraKira user account on our servers, and the App does not require you to create one to record income, expenses, savings or goals.
Information you enter
You may enter information such as:
- Transactions (income, expenses, savings)
- Accounts, categories and goals
- Optional receipt photos
- An optional 6-digit app-lock PIN
This information is stored locally on your device in an SQLite database (and related files). Receipt photos are stored in local app storage. We do not receive this data unless you later choose to export or back it up.
On-device processing
Dashboards, Money Momentum, forecasts, what-if scenarios and receipt text recognition run on your device. Receipt scanning does not upload photos to S Factor Technologies or to a cloud OCR service.
Optional Google Drive backup
If you use Backup & Restore on KiraKira Pro, you authenticate with Google and the App can store a backup in a private Google Drive application folder associated with the Google account you select. Google then processes that backup under Google’s terms and privacy policy. Disconnecting or deleting the backup is done through the App and/or your Google account.
Optional export
CSV or PDF export (Pro) creates a file you can share through your device’s share sheet. Where that file goes is under your control.
App lock, recents and device backups
You may enable an optional PIN and device biometrics. The App hides on-screen balances in the system app switcher. Where the operating system allows, KiraKira excludes its local database (and receipt image folder) from automatic device backups such as Android backup or iCloud app backup.
If you forget your PIN, KiraKira cannot recover it. Uninstalling removes the lock and local data.
What we do not collect by default
- No required KiraKira cloud account
- No advertising identifier collection for ads
- No sale of your financial data
Store listings, operating systems and optional Google Sign-In for Drive may process technical data needed to deliver those services. We do not operate a KiraKira analytics backend in this version of the website or the current App architecture described here.
Purchases
Subscriptions and other paid features are billed by Apple or Google. Those companies process payment information according to their policies. S Factor Technologies does not receive your full card number.
Children
KiraKira is not directed at children. Do not use it to store another person’s financial information without a lawful basis to do so.
Changes
If KiraKira’s data practices change — for example if a future version introduces a server — this policy will be updated before those practices are presented as current.
